Who, me?
I grew up with a Labor Relations Director as a father. Naturally that meant I was proofreading contracts in elementary school since my father couldn't even spell the word "because" correctly. From there, I interned for the Attorney General; I thought I wanted to be in law. While I was doing that I started proofreading fantasy books on the side and realized I had no interest in law, I just liked catching errors that other people didn't find. I was constantly bringing contracts to the Attorney General going, "but did you see they made an error here?" Those errors ended up being the backbone to some of his biggest cases.

After that I went through a stint in Human Resources thinking I could review and update policies and practices - and while I was fantastic at it, if I do say so myself - I got bored rather quickly. I was jumped around from department to department to develop their Standard Operating Procedures then eventually plunked into a generic role.

I decided I needed to do more and went into emergency medicine, massage therapy and healthcare. Who better to fight the inequalities in healthcare than someone working in the field, right?! Well, I was wrong. I made no headway with healthcare policies and decided I had burnt myself out enough on it. Now my focused lies with Second Pass Editorial. Making "Professionally Nitpicky" a career.
